To answer the question most people will ask first: yes, Steel Magnolia House B&B IS the house used in the 1989 film "Steel Magnolias" featuring Dolly Parton, Julia Roberts, Daryl Hannah, Shirley MacLaine and Sally Field.

 

You too can have your own romantic adventure at this beautiful Louisiana B&B and feel like movies stars, even for just a moment.

 

Dating back to earlier than 1841, Steel Magnolia House B&B was once used as a hospital during the Civil War, and may even have played a part in the Underground Railroad.

 

During the 1940s, the house was "modernized" bringing in gas fireplaces, grillwork, a veranda and family room. During this time however, the property still retained it's fascinating historic charm with it's original wood floors and grand staircase.

 

Today, your romantic escape in Louisiana can be spent on it's 5,900 sq ft of living space that encompasses six bedrooms and baths, and an 800 sq ft guest house.

Live oaks dot the beautiful property, really embracing that iconic deep South ambience.

 

The five rooms within this historic B&B reflect the history, the Hollywood glamour, and modern day romance. Each room is unique, giving you the chance to choose the one that's perfect for you.

 

The Shelby Room was inspired by Julia Robert's character in the film, with Southern charm, pink hues and Old Hollywood perfectly working together.

 

The Jackson Room offers sophistication and playfulness with it's four poster King, and the Clairee Room gives you the chance to sip champagne in your Jacuzzi bath suite.
