WHY IS IT SO SPECIAL?

Built back in 1820, the aptly named Simsbury 1820 house was original owned by a Revolutionary War hero, and then passed down in the family until the mid-1950's.

Today, it features on the National Register of Historic Places, and allows guests to be part of it's rich and inspiring history whilst enjoy a romantic escape from everyday life.

 

This elegant Connecticut Country Inn retains the integrity of its original design while offering the modern amenities and personal service of a first class hotel

 

You can sip a complimentary glass of sherry in the parlor while admiring the finely carved woodwork and working fireplaces all restored to their original grandeur. Then, you can retire to your charming guest room where you can surround yourselves in the 19th century antiques and fabrics.

 

The Inn’s 32 rooms, including three suites, are spread between the Main House and the home’s original Carriage House. Four of the guest rooms in the Carriage House have their own private entrances.

 

Curl up in your four-poster canopied beds that are luxuriously dressed in Belgian linens with goose down featherbeds and comforters, yet enjoy the 21st century amenities including complimentary wireless Internet access, TV, VCR, and telephones with computer ports.

 

All guests at Simsbury 1820 House also are treated to a complimentary breakfast where you can start your day with freshly made muffins and breads, fresh fruit, bagels, yoghurts and freshly ground coffee.

WHAT ELSE SHOULD WE KNOW:

They are very pet friendly! They offer treats and maps of pet friendly walking trails. However, pets must be quiet especially at night and there is a charge of $20.00 per night with a maximum weight of pet not to exceed 100 pounds. A $100.00 refundable cleaning deposit is taken at the time of reservation.

Handicap accessible and hypoallergenic rooms are available, as well as cots and rollaway beds.
