WHY IS IT SO SPECIAL?

For a beautiful and historic bed & breakfast experience in a beautiful and historic Iowa town, then head to The Richards House Bed & Breakfast Inn.
Built back in 1883 and nestled in the charming town of Dubuque, this four-story Stick style house stands as one of the most original Victorian homes in the whole of Dubuque.
For those couples who love history, you just have to look around to realize you have become part of it. The interior of the property still holds it's original features, including varnished woodwork, and roaring fireplaces - eight in total.
Within this historic bed & breakfast, there are a number of room styles for you to choose from. Some of the rooms feature shared baths, but for those couples on romantic weekends away, there are rooms with private baths for the taking.
These rooms also come with extras that can really make your stay extra special. Here, you can embrace the history with the period antiques, as well as a feature fireplace.
The stained glass windows add an extra element to the magic, and come evening, you have an antique half-canopied bed to look forward to.
To really celebrate, check out The Library Suite. With not one, but two working fireplaces to cozy up in front of, this beautifully decorated suite also features a half foot claw-foot tub. The perfect way to unwind after a long day.
Come morning, you will be ready for your full breakfast, with dishes to really water your mouths, from spiced apple cake to special eggs. On those cool mornings, you can enjoy these in front of the warmth of the fireplace, surrounded by the ornate Victorian decor.
The true stars of The Richard's House Bed & Breakfast Inn, however, are the innkeepers. They will go out of their way to make your stay as special as possible.
Want your fireplace ready for when you arrive back? Sure. Need that bubble bath run in advance? No problem.
So all you need to do is just focus on arriving at the inn, and letting everything else take care of itself.

DON'T MISS:
They will be happy to prepare the fireplace for you or have your room nice and cool in the summer, or direct you to the beverages and snacks that are always available

WHAT ELSE SHOULD WE KNOW:
The inn offer a host of activities for you, so you don't even need to leave the doors to enjoy yourself. Make sure you check out the selection of movies

The exterior suffers from a botched job from a painter in the 1960s. As much as the current owners are trying to fix it, by no means should the exterior deter you from the magic inside.
