WHY IS IT SO SPECIAL?

As late as 1987, the Old Nelson County Jail was still holding prisoners within the same walls that it had been doing so since 1797. The front building, or the "Old Jail" was built a bit later in 1819, and the back jail in 1874, making it the longest operating jail complex in the entire state of Kentucky.

It's listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, and since 1989, it has been known as Jailer's Inn Bed & Breakfast. This is where you come in.

History has been turned into beauty whilst ensuring it's stories of the past are honored.

The B&B features five rooms, three suites, and a jail cell to stay in.

All of the rooms feature private baths, and all rooms offer a delicious breakfast every morning with your plate filled with baked french toast, muffins, donuts, and fruits.

From four poster beds, to double Jacuzzi tubs, antique style furnishings and romantic draperies over the beds, every room has it's own unique touch, so you can be sure to find the one that is perfect for what you are looking for.

USA Today declared Bardstown the "Most Beautiful Small Town In America", so even before you step foot in the unique Jailer's Inn Bed & Breakfast, you know you will be part of something special.

Throughout Nelson County, over 300 buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Jailer's Inn Bed & Breakfast is a truly special experience for any couple wanting a romantic getaway in Kentucky.
